Hello everyone! Long time no see…

Obviously I haven’t been doing the nappy thing for a while, but instead I decided to write a book!

Which is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time, and when the joy of making nappies faded, I found myself finally writing my first novel.

It came out last week, and I’m so overwhelmingly excited about it.

Project Eden is an earthy dystopian survival story, with cozy vibes, some slow burn romance, and lots of appreciation for nature.

Hello there BLB Team!

While I’ve been taking a break from nappies, I’ve created a kids journal!

I’ve been keeping a journal since primary school, and have found it an amazing resource over the years for processing my feelings. I wanted to share that experience with my kids, so created Wild Heart, Calm Mind.

It’s aimed at those just starting out with journal writing. My 7 year old was my consultant on the creative process and content.

It includes writing prompts, pages for drawing, free writing sections, and gratitude journaling.

Hello my beautiful BLB customers! 💕🌱

You may have noticed that it’s been pretty quiet here at Bizzy Little Bean.

The truth is, I fell a little out of love with making nappies, I just didn’t have the desire to sew them anymore. 😔

But without something to create, and a business to run, I was feeling rather flat. Life has been busy and full of wonderful milestones, but something was missing.

Then recently while working on a school concert costume for my daughter, I tried tie dye. And what I discovered is I absolutely LOVED it! 🌈💕

Testing different ways to fold and tie the fabric, colour combinations, and that amazing feeling when you untie it all and get to see what you’ve created.

I had that feeling back, the one I used to get after completing a nappy, but faster, with less equipment, and in a smaller space! It was perfect! 🫶

But telling people I want to swap out handmade nappies for tie dying tshirts and socks felt really scary. Bizzy Little Bean has been my baby for 7 years.

Then yesterday, when I was almost ready to jump right in, a memory popped up on Facebook. 7 years ago (yesterday) I first shared my Bizzy Little Bean page to all my friends! It all felt like rather serendipitous!

And so “Happy Little Accidents Tie Dye” came into being.

So we have a name, some enthusiasm, and I *hope* some of you lovely humans who might like to follow along with what I’m doing now. (A page is on its way.) I think beautiful bright creations is exactly what is needed to rekindle my sewing love!

So if anyone is interested in checking out our first mini release of (some of which the tiny humans enthusiastically contributed to) I’ve shared some photos of what we’ve created so far. Get in touch if there’s anything you like.

I started writing this post hours ago! Back at 10.30am when I first tried to get the little one to nap. Many hours later, two very sore arms and maybe 40 minutes total of sleeping, and we gave up and went to watch

That’s okay though, today my tiny human just needed cuddles. And I’m lucky enough that I could spend the day giving her what she needed. I didn’t go near the sewing room, no laundry has been done, and the sink is piled with last nights dishes.

But I’m learning to be okay with that. Days like today happen, and they’ll happen again.

I was about to write “I’ll be productive another day”, but you know what? Today I was productive, today I got stuff done. It wasn’t housework, it wasn’t nappy work, but it was giving my little person the love and attention she needed today, because she has a cold, and wanted her mum. I think that’s pretty damn good.

On that note, it’s time for school pickup.

Something a little different in our reels today!

Little milk carton greenhouses! Great way to upcycle something you’d otherwise throw out, and gets a head start on planting for spring.

Nice little activity for the kids to get involved with too, they might just need help with the sharp bits.

How great are winter school holidays? It’s cold, wet, and everyone is sick all the time. 😂😩

The big kids definitely aren’t fighting over playing Beat Sabre as I write this with the little one attached to my b**b in the dark.

I’m hoping she’ll feed to sleep so I don’t have to rock her, cause she’s getting heavy. But that doesn’t happen very often these days.

Crossing my fingers for sunshine tomorrow so we can get outside for a bit if everyone feels up to it. I have a greenhouse to finish assembling! 🪴

And we’ll be making some more mini milk bottle greenhouses. Which I’ll share in our stories.

Fourteen gorgeous designs, which have been hiding in storage since we left for NSW last year! 😂😂

But I’m very excited to have rediscovered them all (some of which I forgot buying) and be able to make them up for you in any of our nappy styles or breastpads.
