Here on the Edge of the Forest life is a lot slower than it is in most places which gives me the chance to appreciate the life around me. I am surrounded by many beautiful creatures, kangaroos hop up and down the street every morning and night and often hang out in the garden at the front of the house. My favourite though would have to be the birdlife, particularly the powerful owl. This amazing b
ird is stunning, very large and very active in these parts, often seen late at night lingering around our property. Being lucky enough to get a glimpse of one of these very special birds makes me feel extraordinarily blessed to be able to share my home with them. As well as the wildlife I love the flora that we find both on the edge and inside the forest. We are home to many different species of fungi, all of which are amazing to capture in their natural environment. And the amazing native flowers and trees are just as spectacular and create the most peaceful, soul soothing scent that fills my home and my life. The weather is another part of my inspiration, it is very cold here and rains a LOT. We are lucky enough to have an abundance of water, with reservoirs fed by natural springs and a lot of rain. It also snows here in winter and we get some pretty severe frosts so often when I wake in the morning everything outside is white and frozen. Autumn is stunning, with the leaves changing colour and falling to create masses of dry leaves to run and play in and Spring brings the most amazing display of colour with clear blue skies, gentle breezes and an abundance of butterflies. I love it here on the edge of the forest, it is a beautiful and magical place to live and I would really like to share that with you all, so that you may take a small piece of the stillness that it brings to the heart and soul.
