We often hear that play is how children make sense of the world.

C123: Track Builder Corkscrew. This is such a hit with the kids and those still young at heart. They are having a blast and don't even realise the problem-solving, spatial awareness and fine motor skills that they are practicing all at the same time. The ex*****on of the launcher too is about finesse rather than brute strength.

This year's theme, Protect Play, Protect Childhood, is a reminder that play is an essential part of growing up and something every child has the right to experience.

Through play, children learn how to connect, create, explore and belong. It's how they discover their interests, build relationships, solve problems and make sense of the world around them.

The science is clear too. In just 30 minutes of play, one third of the neurons in a child's brain can change and form new connections. Play quite literally helps children grow.

Budding entomologists are loving our new Mini Beasts and Microscope Set. Kids can see close-up, all the details of a selection of insect and spider specimens.
