These sunglass pouches are now available in my Madeit and Etsy stores.

They are fully lined, lightly padded and close with a flexframe, just squeeze the sides and they pop open, release and they snap closed.

Ten days ago I set myself a task of making 50 sunglass pouches by the end of the month but here they are finished. I totally surprised myself especially since I had quite a few days off to spend time with my grandchildren, my parents, housework, making different items etc but its surprising what can be achieved when you put your mind to it.

Next challenge is ???? I haven't decided but I have decided to change up my market display a bit so will do a dummy run in the lounge room tomorrow.

These pouches will be added to my Madeit and Etsy stock as I photograph them as well as going along to Kalamunda Artisan Market on Saturday 1st August.

This is the batch of 52 Aussie sunglass pouches I'm making my July sewing challenge. They just need their final ironing and the channel stitched in place for the flexframes which will then be fitted in place. It doesn't sound like much but with this many pouches it will take many hours.

They will soon be ready for Kalamunda Artisan Market and my online stores. I've used some old time favourite fabrics as well as some gorgeous new ones.

I've been working on my goal to make 50 Australiana themed sunglass pouches by the end of July and this is what they currently look like.

I make all my pouches insideout so this batch now needs to be turned right side out, ironed, flexframe casing to be measured and ironed before being stitched in place and finally the flexframes need to be inserted and the hinges closed so still a way to go.

Today I made these pants for my grandchildren. They usually wear them out before they grow out of them which shows how much they love their grandma-made pants.

I've decided to give myself a mid year challenge - to make 50 Aussie sunglass pouches by the end of the month. I've only just started so its a huge task to get 50 made in three weeks but I'll give it a good try.

So far I've cut out all 50 outer layers (100 pieces) and ironed on the wadding and sewn on labels on 30. There is still a long way to go and so much work ahead but challenging myself will keep my enthusiasm going.

Once finished, these pouches will be used to restock my Etsy and Madeit stores as well as becoming market stock.

Today was date day but because of my eye specialist appointment we just went to a restaurant at the local hospital and then had a look around the grounds. There is so much happening nearby with the new baby and women's hospital construction plus so many other new buildings going up.
Afterwards we went to a try out Adore Bakery Patisserie & Café a new patisserie nearby and the cake selection was amazing.

I've been on a self imposed fabric buying ban all year but couldn't resist these beautiful Australiana fabrics (plus a few others which haven't arrived yet, oops).

So I caved in a few times in June but am back on my ban for the rest of the year, well until I see something else I cant resist.
