Today I'm playing with fabrics and beads while take a break from crocheting and I wait for my cotton to arrive. I have a huge collection of hand dyed fabrics, hand made polymer clay beads, and bought beads. Hopefully will be a nice medative process, slow stitching and mixing various media. First up a bracelet.

I’ve ordered the yarn for my next project—a tie-front vest for myself. It will feature three rows of granny squares along the bottom with a mesh upper. Once the yarn arrives, I’ll work on my swatches, finalize my measurements, and complete the pattern. Join me for progress shots along the way. 😃🧶

I’m very excited to finally share the first pattern from my Crocheted Icons collection — Hearts Tote Bag

After a lot of designing, crocheting, tweaking and yes… quite a bit of maths! 😄, the pattern is now available on Ravelry.

And to celebrate the launch, Hearts is FREE for a limited time! 🎉

And for those who would rather buy than make… the finished Crocheted Icons bags are coming to The Tasty Pear in Bassendean this week! ❤️

I’ll be taking six handmade bags in:
🖤 Noir & Parchment — Hearts, Drops & Orbs
🤎 Chestnut & Buttermilk — Hearts
🩵 Smokey Blue & Parchment — Orbs
🩵 Light Teal & Parchment — Drops

Each one is handmade by me in cotton, with bamboo handles and bases.

It’s exciting to finally see Nancy Makes moving from ideas and samples into the world. Thank you for coming along for the ride. ❤️

Happy making!
Nancy

So, I'm sitting here without a car and house bound. I guess that's not too bad of a thing when I've got a new pack of cotton to play with and a pattern to release very soon. I'm also working towards putting my bags into The Tasty Pear in Bassendean. Perhaps I'll smash some goals this weekend.

A new package of cotton yarn to play with. Yippee.

I'm so excited to finally share the first three bags in my new collection – Hearts ❤️, Orbs ⚪ and Drops 💧.

This collection has been a labour of love and marks the beginning of something I can't wait to grow.

Crocheted Icons is a collection of bold, geometric crochet bags where simple symbols emerge through the interplay of positive and negative space. Handcrafted in cotton and finished with bamboo handles and bases, each design transforms an everyday icon into a timeless textile pattern.

The Hearts pattern will be the first to be released as a FREE downloadable PDF, coming very soon! The Orbs and Drops patterns will follow as paid PDF downloads, and I'm also working on crochet kits so you'll have everything you need to create your own.

This is very much a work in progress. New icon designs are already taking shape, and that's what excites me the most. The possibilities for this collection feel endless, and I can't wait to see where it leads.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me along the way. I hope you love Crocheted Icons as much as I've loved creating it. ❤️

I finally finished the Hexi Cardigan I've been working on since last Craft Alive where I bought the yarn. I'm glad this is a better fit than my last cardigan attempt because I didn't follow a pattern and made it to fit.
