Vintage Charm and Collectables

Vintage Charm and Collectables I have always loved pretty vintage china and glassware from the 1920s onwards, beginning with a fascination with the contents of Nanna's china cabinets.

I was lucky to inherit some of my Nanna's china and then my Mum's carnival glass. My Mum also gave me some lovely china she found in op shops and so a collecting habit was born. If you have three of any item then you have a collection and my home is full of collections. Some are vintage, some retro and some contemporary .

Tomorrow and Sunday is the Antiques and Bottle Fair on St Vincent Street in Port Adelaide. We are all set up except for our jewellery so I am very pleased. Especially as early bird entry starts at 8am tomorrow.

Did a big rejig of my space downstairs at The Port Adelaide Emporium. My son helped me add a larger pigeon hole unit and stand up the smaller one that was there. So double the shelving means many more treasures are available. I particularly love the large Madonna chalkware piece in the first photo, so serene.

Well, well, well. What an amazing turnout today to ! So many happy people buying and appreciating true vintage. Not many photos as we were swamped for most of the day...our best market to date.

We even had dress as a princess and run across the room. It's a beautiful dress and she looked ethereal in it.

So now I am in prep mode for next Sunday's in The Collectables where we're continuing our sale which will be 50% off the whole stall except red tags. This includes fashion like today and decor, pottery, homewares, glass and bric a brac.

Such a fabulous night market last night. So pumping in The Collectables that I took not one photo! Borrowed this from a Gilles post.

So many lovely people buying gorgeous pieces for themselves and their mums. Favourites were the young lady who bought a decorative letterbox to use at her wedding, the sweet kids and dad who bought a Glomesh purse for mum for today, the Holly Hobbie couple - she collects and her supports her lovingly, and the little boy who had to have, and carry ,the Star Wars chess set. I hope his daddy enjoys teaching him to play.

Thanks for an amazing night Jenn, Ron and crew.

We'll be back for the day market Sunday 31 May and I hear both sides of The Collectables will be filled with true vintage and retro treasure.

I am tinkering with a half price sale for the whole stall. What do you think, should I?
