This looks simple… but most people get it wrong.

I’ve had a few of you say lately that you’ve tried this at home after seeing these grids… and that it’s actually harder than it looks.

And you’re right.

Someone asked me the other day how much our rent costs and what we “get” for that… my answer? “The Keys and invoice each month” 😅 but it got me thinking I wonder if people realise all the hidden expenses that come along with opening the doors each day?

Now these figures were taken from last financial year, so you can bet your bottom dollar they’ll all be more than that come tax time this year… but it gives you an idea.

Oh and all these expenses are before we’ve spent a dollar buying the actual stock to sell or the coffee to pour 🙈

All I can say is I’m grateful that most of these expenses come monthly or quarterly or else I’d not only be grey, but possibly bald too 😂

When the inspiration hits I just gotta make the most of it!

The idea comes, the setup happens, the filming starts and then the next 6 hours are spent editing and wondering if it’s going to be worth it 😅

But honestly, any and all the support I’ve been shown here is so so gratefully received.

It makes it easier to show up, and for that, I must thank YOU 🙏🏼

I thought it was a hoax at first.

“Hi it’s Derek here, how are you?”

“I’m good Derek, what can I do for you? (I don’t need a loan, insurance, a new internet provider or solar, but thanks anyways 😅)

“I work for a Sourcing Company and we’re helping some of the Contestants on the next Season of find some of their styling elements. I would love to know if you have multiples of the following items in stock”

Well hello Derek, now you’ve got my attention 🤭

“Ah sure. Give me the list and I’ll see what I can do!”

Next minute I’m prepping product to ship to Melbourne.

Just another day at the office (and I promise not to eye roll next time I get a call asking me how I am before they tell me what they want 😉)
