I am really inspired by educational products and toys that assist kids with behavioural issues. That is how I came up with Klipee! It's amazing the solutions you have to come up with "on the fly" as a mum. I took my 4 year old to a Speech Therapist after he was having trouble identifying "things" around the home. We discovered he needed a different, more visual and tactile way of learning, due to

a memory delay which was affecting his ability to communicate. Seeing my son's frustration - and being driven crazy by his resulting behaviour - got me thinking... I dreamed up a colourful, fun, multi-purpose toy; that kids would gravitate to, that parents could personalise and professionals could adapt to get better results for their patients. After scribbling some notes on a scrap of paper, to meeting with an industrial designer, to getting a prototype together - Klipee has now come to life. It's been amazing to get constant feedback on the product and its possible uses - people are suggesting uses I had not even considered! With the "official" launch of the product slated for late 2016, I am loving the steep learning curve of commercialising an idea close to my heart, immersing myself into the (new to me) world of technology and business that moves as rapidly as my three children on a summers' day at the beach. So now I sleep, breathe and dream about Klipee! Oh yes, and my family of course :)

When my son was cutting teeth I would pop a Klipee in the fridge and it would help sooth his gums.

All you need to do is pop it in the dishwasher at the eat of the day to clean.

Why is play based learning important?

Children are more motivated to learn and develop a positive attitude towards their learning when they are involved in experiences that are meaningful and encourage them to develop lifelong skills. Play based learning allows for open ended materials and loose parts to be arranged and experimented with in a variety of different ways.

Surprisingly, simple toys offer more play opportunities to children than complex toys. Simple, basic playthings such as Klipee’s,dollhouses, and art supplies have multiple purposes.
With simple toys, play is up to the child’s mood and creative interpretation.A complex toy results in play that requires a specific task to make it work.
For example, pushing a button on a toy will make it play a song for you. The play is more straightforward and simple with play directed by the toy. While the toy will be fun and enjoyable for a period of time, it will limit play as well as the child’s creativity. The learning that results from the toy relates only to cause and effect. Closed-ended, toy-directed play does not allow for creative exploration or imaginative play, and it also limits a child’s ability to problem-solve.
