Well The Vintage Shop is nearly cleared out..a process that i could not have accomplished without the help of wonderful family and dear friends...it has been a long drawn out process mainly due to my own increasingly ill health.....thankyou so much to the new owners of the building for their patience and understanding at the amount of time i have taken.....no operation yet...but there is hope for the future... so for now i have some giveaways, Free Stuff...
The Shop will be Open for one last time on Friday around 11a.m. the giveaways are mainly furniture...a few interesting pieces that i just cant fit into my new location....here are a few pictures...but there are quite a few items....contact me if you're interested...love jude.
also all consignment goods have been moved to a new location so i can continue to work when i am able and i will be in touch with all of you wonderful people as soon as possible.

GARAGE SALE @ The Vintage Shop tomorrow...Saturday 17th April 10 to 1pm !! Come and check out the bargains...$5, $10 and $15 dollar tables plus lots more, incl. vintage bike, gramophone records, vintage songsheets, old records, clothing and clock parts....nearly at the end of lease...everything must go!

The Vintage Shop is nearing the end of its time @ the old drycleaning store..if you see the door open....please feel free to drop in and grab a bargain. We will have one final weekend of Sales coming up and will advertise when that when we are ready!
All Consignees will be contacted over the next few weeks...i haven't forgotten you....it is just taking time because of my health difficulties. I look forward to meeting with everyone very soon!
..but today i want to talk about something a little different...about someone who was a good friend to The Vintage Shop...whose unique good will, humor and kindness has meant a great deal to me over the past 5 years and sadly he passed away quite recently.

Tony Murdoch lived across the road from the shop and i remember very well the first day i met him...he was on his way to the IGA and i was sitting out the front as i liked to do...and he stopped looked at the window display, looked at me and said...would you like some gramophone records...i used to play frisby with them as a kid...but i think there are some left!! and that was the beginning of a fun and at times fascinating business relationship with Tony

Gathering up his things around the shop...i am reminded of the quite eclectic bag of goods he used to bring over...my sister Cath was working there at the time and we loved it when he popped his head in the door...and there were certainly some treasures...car stuff from his dad, china from his mum....i can honestly say that Tony was one of the most generous consignees that i was lucky enough to work with....right from the beginning he would say...see what you can get and i would say ok let me just clean this up and surprisingly sometimes we did very well...my favourite time is a few years back when we did very well..and there was Tony back and forth from the IGA and then home again to cook and fill the freezer..then off to the Hotel!
i was shocked to hear he had died...i had been planning to catch up with him the Saturday i heard...i had a little cash for him and i was anticipating how pleased he would be...he was always pleased...i knew i hadnt seen him for a while but i never imagined that was it.... he kept an eye on the shop for me when i wasn't there..which regrettably this last year because of my health my hours there had been reduced and reduced again.., He was, to my mind, a gifted gardener...he would often say it was nothing...that his mum had been the gardener and he would describe the gorgeous array of flowers she would coax up in their garden..and I would say when he bought something else over that his mum had loved...that i think i would've really liked his mum!....he was so helpful with my little shop cottage garden...giving advice..freely...bringing over plants for me...so encouraging and sometimes having a good laugh at my plans or ideas...he could never get over me painting the bycicles out the front a bright vivid blue!!
He was.a real character. that's for sure.... with a good heart...it's hard to believe he's gone...that i wont hear that cheeky voice calling out ..anybody in there!!!...i'm glad i knew Tony and i will miss him.

Lots of lovely stuff still left...but we have to go.. so why not drop in for a bargain and a chat!! ...clocks, clocks parts, vintage car manuals, retro and vintage dresses, china, bricabrac, and lots more....it's hard to leave and so with that in mind....here are a few memories of our favourite things @ The Vintage Shop!!!

Well it has been a wonderful five years @ The Vintage Shop...i am sad that we have to close...unfortunately the new owners have decided to use the space for storage and we are in the process of clearing out all the stock.
I have so many great memories and stories of my time here...which i will go into in other posts...combined with my serious health difficulties it is a difficult task to clear the shop...and i will be having several big Sales to aid the the process..
I have some wonderful people who are helping me as i am unable to physically do as much as i would like. Thankyou to all my fabulous customers and friends of the Shop...
fortunately i have been given time to vacate the premises. It is a sad time for me but am so grateful for the five years i have had...details to follow regarding goods on consignment etc., I will be personally in contact with all these lovely people... and i will advertise the times and dates the Vintage Shop will be OPEN for the big sales!
For now i am more grateful than sad that i had this wonderful, fun shop for five years!

Hello Vintage Lovers and friends of the Vintage Shop...What a strange year 2020 has turned out to be!! My plan was to Open on weekends...but unfortunately Covid 19 scares and my own complex health issues have made this a hit and miss venture. I truly miss chatting in the shop with my fabulous customers and hearing wonderful vintage hunting stories and also placing some of my treasures with new owners!!
So....i am hoping in the New Year to be able to Open again properly...all my lovely stock is sitting waiting...we do live in strange times and our priorities must be to stay safe and healthy.I know i am not alone in facing uncertain and difficult circumstances....i will continue to post about all things Vintage...but for now love and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas!!.....love jude###

Our wonderful inspirational painting this week is by Russian contemporary Artist Olga Suvorova.one of my favourite artists and i have shown her work here before....Her blend of medieval, fantasy and whimsy is intriguing and use of colours simply beautiful. We do not own this painting, it is not for sale and offer it only for inspiration!!

Out for a Saturday or Sunday Drive on Father's Day...What's On...in The Gilbert Valley this weekend! Well for a start...The Vintage Shop is open both days Saturday 11 - 4 Sunday 11 - 4 Check us out...we have a large collection of vintage clock parts, retro dresses, vintage comic books and car manuals, jewellery, faux furs and much much more!!

SADDLEWORTH COUNTRY MARKET also OPEN SUNDAY 9.30- 1.30 This is a fabulous market and well worth a drive!!
