Fur years I've dreamed of writing my own Journal about life, decor, furniture revamps and more for all but especially for the every day person who doesn't have the elaborate budget for major renovations or designer decor. Bonjour!

Well I've been a little quiet this week and that's because not only have I been working on the many, many layers of this new piece, I've also been in the kitchen cooking up a storm all week. This weather has me craving all kinds of comfort food from pot pies to chicken soup. Yum!

Now, back to the piece! I'm on the home stretch with 2 coats of lacquer done today and I'm sorting that sheen! Don't underestimate the power of the lacquer..... even I tend to forget about it at times as I love wax but there is something delicious about lacquer and how it brings out the colours. I'll reveal full colours and details tomorrow when she's looking all fancy and at her best.... also even the painters tape is finally gone yey 😆

Friendly reminder: You don't have to finish a project just because you started it.
​I was halfway through this finish, looked at it, and just went... no. It is not vibing. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut and call it before you spend hours on a finish you know you're going to regret. So, we are stopping right here, admitting defeat, and grabbing the paint. 🫣🎨
​Am I crazy for stopping halfway, or is a total pivot exactly what this hall stand needs? 🤷‍♀️
