My first design for fabric, which is not only sweet, but tells a story of a precious skill, handed down through time and used to create special memories.

The last few weeks have been big. Designing fabric, cutting and hemming hundreds of tiny rolled edges, getting the handkerchief collection live and out the door. It is a lot for one person, but such a satisfying achievement. I love my delicate hankies, taking us back to another time.
This is what the table looks like when a collection is done. I love a creative mess 😆🤭

The Lesson.
The final in The Sewing Room Ladies Handkerchief Series.
With carefully styled hair, thoughtfully put together outfits and a desire to learn and teach skills, once revered. Are we losing this tradition, or are we building it back up? Learning to make something with your own hands, not only gives you a sense of achievement, but also gives you an understanding of the true value of something made, with care and consideration.

The Lesson Handkerchief is made from fine Pima Cotton Lawn, beautifully printed locally by
$16 for a single Hanky, or $65 for a set of 4 with a handy little matching pouch.

I have created The Sewing Room Collection as a step down memory lane, with a nod towards the skill, knowledge and care, wrapped up in a generation of quietly capable women.

Good Taste is the third Design in The Sewing Room Collection of womens Handkerchiefs.

In the 1920s, many women crafted their own clothes, their own style, often from whatever they could get their hands on. It is a skill learned and passed on through generations. Now more than ever, this skill is needed, to reinvigorate connection, story and appreciation for the clothes we wear.

I have created this collection as not only beautiful pieces that can accompany an outfit, but also as a more sustainable option to the tissue. Something used and disposed of without thought.

Mother and Child.
For the mothers and mother figures in your life, here is something a little special.

A handkerchief was simply what a woman carried. Tucked into a pocket, always there for a grubby face, sticky hands or a teary eye. A considered little something from another era, and honestly a far better option than a pocket full of tissues.

The Mother and Child. Soft, delicate and made to be treasured. Carry it alone or pair it with the matching pouch.
