It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that MFO shares today, that we have lost an incredible human, a local icon and the Queen of our hearts, the Queen of Gold Coast Multiculturalism, our Director Cornelia Babbage OAM.
Cornelia left this world after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family including her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be remembered by all those who knew her as a kind, compassionate and extremely fun-loving human whose mission in life was to advocate for those who didn’t have a voice, to provide a safe space for those in need and to celebrate the positive impact of diversity.
Cornelia’s legacy lives on through her leadership of MFO for nearly twenty years, growing the organisation from humble beginnings and inspiring communities to be the positive change she hoped for the world to be.
