as bub gets older these visits look different - perhaps practicing play time, talking about development, encouraging different gross motor skills, practicing your baby carrier or tips for witching hour, the list goes on!

the hardest part of my job is explaining what my job is.
I’m a nurse practitioner. in australia that title doesn’t mean much to most parents, because there are only a few thousand of us and nearly all of us work inside hospitals and public clinics. almost nobody is doing this in the private space in Sydney. so when I say I can assess, diagnose, prescribe, order pathology and refer on, it sounds like I’m describing three different people’s jobs. it’s one endorsement, but I say it’s a cross between postpartum doula, midwife, lactation, child & family, and paediatrician.
