It’s honestly like reverse psychology — the more signs we put up saying PLEASE DON’T TOUCH, the more people seem to touch 😭
A little PSA from us: PLEASE, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIGNAGE IN THE SHOP.
We don’t put signs up to be difficult. We’re dealing with vintage and antique pieces that are fragile, often irreplaceable, and quite literally our livelihood.
And we absolutely HATE having to have that awkward conversation with someone about paying for something they’ve broken. We don’t want to do it to anybody, ever. But unfortunately, breakages are happening far too often.
What makes it worse is the abuse and excuses we sometimes cop when we ask people to take responsibility. One time, a man broke a $150 bowl, threw $20 at Mum and walked out after verbally abusing her. 😭
At this rate, having a physical shop where people can come in and experience these beautiful pieces just isn’t going to be sustainable.
So please — if a sign says DON’T TOUCH, please don’t touch. If you want to see something more closely, JUST ASK US! We are always more than happy to take it down and show it to you safely.
We love having a physical shop and sharing all these treasures with you. Please help us keep it that way. ❤️
