It was fantastic to have three Saltwater Veterans crews competing alongside Mooloolaba Yacht Club members. MYC continues to be incredible supporters of the veterans’ community, with a standing offer for veterans to participate in all their club programs. 🙌

NOAKES | our Salt-E-7 rig is back in after a major refurbishment and re-coating — and it looks bloody amazing.

We set out with a vision of creating a dedicated sail training vessel for veterans and their families. ✅

What we’re ending up with is something even better — a capable, highly competitive racing vessel that gives our community another way to get on the water, develop their skills and exercise that competitive drive. ✅

From training days to the start line, Salt-E-7 is ready for it.

Big thanks to everyone who has helped bring this boat back to life.

REGGIE | Gotta think she’s earned her frequent flyer status by now! ✈️🐾

Racked up her 62nd in-cabin flight today — and that’s not even counting all the flights she did during her training.

She’s every bit an assistance dog, and after all those flights and countless hours on the water, she’s well and truly earned her wings, sea legs and sailing stripes. ⛵️✈️🐾

MOOLOOLABA | Lovely to share the waterway yesterday with Sailability Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia - I always love seeing the colours of the Hansa sails.

This crew have their drills down pat! Hands down, one of the best-run, volunteer-powered sailing organisations we’ve come across.

You can see the experience, teamwork and passion in everything they do. A really impressive crew and a great good bunch of people to spend time on the water with.

MOOLOOLABA | Really proud to be part of the event for our newest veteran Keelboat Instructors running their first SVSP Discover Sailing activity on the Sunny Coast today. ⚓️

Why this is important is simple — it builds local capability.

By training and supporting veteran instructors in regional areas, we enable local veterans to lead and facilitate sailing activities more frequently, creating more opportunities for veterans and their families to get On, In & Around the Water.

This is how we build a sustainable national veteran sailing community — empowering veterans to support veterans, locally.

Well done, crew. Bloody proud of you all.

TORONTO | Northshore Regatta – Lake Macquarie

Congratulations Francois — and well done to the whole team on an outstanding 2nd Overall! 🏆

A fantastic effort from everyone and a great result after a big weekend on the water.

By all accounts they all had a great time, and it was a real privilege for so many veterans and their families to be part of the team. Lots of laughs, great racing and plenty of fun along the way!

GRATITUDE | A huge thank you to Ocean South for their in-kind support and donation of trailer guide posts for Salty RHIB. ⚓️

These might seem like a small piece of equipment, but they make a big difference when launching and retrieving the RHIB from Sydney ramps — particularly those that are slippery and affected by surge.

Oceansouth Australia have been fantastic supporters of Saltwater Veterans Sailing Project, previously donating boat covers and now these guide posts.

Support like this makes a real difference. In-kind donations help keep our fundraising focused on what matters most — getting veterans on, in and around the water through sailing and powerboat training, social connection and shared experiences.
