Quilt top is about 125x160cm , nice throw size … but I’ll add an extra border on one side and top or bottom to make it a tad bigger (:

I was my birthday a few days ago and I promised myself I would start sitting behind that machine of mine .
I had not turned it on for many many months ! Maybe 6 months ago 🤔 and even then my sewjo was lacking . And when we got our new pup .the.staffy_2233 the choice was cuddles or cuddles ( very clingy girl ) …
she’s 4.5 months now and she’s been with me in my sewing room whilst I made this huge throw in this super soft fabric from . ( bought from , after I saw a cute throw in a Facebook group)
Of course the lighting outside is crap, no filter is going to mix that… but I started to make again, and I’m glad I did !
I’ll have to think about the backing, but have an option there already … a gorgeous blue striped stonewashed flat sheet . ( son doesn’t use flat sheets on his bed but was part of the package ) shouldn’t waste it, now should I ?
Anyways … slowly getting back on the socials .
Hope you are all battling on and keep on going.

It’s been a minute !!
Maybe even months since I posted last … life has taken over my urge to sew, create and play. My machine hardly gets turned on as I’ve just lost that sew-jo 🙁
But I signed up to 6 month course anyways, hoping it would get the juices flowing . November is here, and month 2 has started .. and I just finished my block for the 1st month.
My colour inspiration came from a canvas print I have from . Love the colours in this print so let’s see what else I can create with these in next few months.

Yesterday I went to sit and sew with some members of in Bulli. I got 7 rows sewn together but I finished my last row here at home … followed by 1 hour of ironing !!! One hour folks !! 🤪
The weather is still crap so lighting is terrible inside , but here is my finished quilt top 😍
Fluorescent yellows, with (hot) pinks , purples , golden browns and reds. I made 48 blocks resulting in about 6 X 8 lay out . The bed in our spare room is queen size, for scale. I make most quilts in a large throw / single bed size, perfect for when your partner is a hit sleeper but you want an extra layer in bed. Perfect for the couch as well!
I will get this basted and will hand quilt it… unless YOU want to buy it and want it quilted by machine ! Contact me if you are keen to purchase it!

Last year I bought a few different pieces of fabric from . Silly me didn’t think hard enough about the amount of fabric I would need for my ..
I’ve made plenty of them out of a metre of fabric but of course they didn’t have a print like this so I ran short.
I improvised and added some more doops design fabric and added that to the back piece of the pattern.
(I also have done this before, as I once cut my fabric wrong and had to make it fit with other fabric.)
I made this top with Australia Day long weekend in mind. Aussie designed fabric, kangaroos and emus , light and airy linen fabric for the hot Aussie summer days, made by me!
