Why Japan?
I’m interested in the intersection of art, fashion and costume & the Japanese love to experiment with how they dress and there’s often a sense of play.
The rich culture, the extremes of refined, disciplined design with crazy cosplay.
I remember first coming across the book Fruits featuring a wonderful collection of Japanese people creatively dressing and feeling inspired.
Most of these observations are from afar so it’s wonderful to see how my aesthetic marries in with all of this in reality.
