My favourite day of the year!

Today is the Winter Solstice – the shortest day and longest night of the year.

I've always loved this day because it marks a turning point. From tomorrow onwards, the days slowly start getting longer again. You might not notice it straight away, but every day brings a little more light.

And for all the parents reading this... here's hoping the longest night of the year also means a little extra sleep!

A few simple ways to celebrate:
* Catch a sunrise or sunset
* Enjoy a warm drink
* Take a family walk in the fresh winter air
* Enjoy a cosy evening together
* Take a moment to appreciate the season you're in

As you head out on winter adventures, don't forget that puffy jackets and bulky clothing can affect car seat harness fit. A quick safety check can make all the difference.

Wondering if your child has outgrown their car seat?

One of the most common questions we get is, "How do I know when it's time to move to the next seat?"

The answer isn't based on age alone.

While manufacturers provide age ranges as a guide, the most important factor is your child's size — particularly their torso length.

For many car seats, once the top of your child's shoulders reach the manufacturer's height marker or label line, they've reached the maximum height for that car seat and it's time to move to the next stage.

Every child grows differently, which is why two children of the same age may fit very differently in the same seat.

If you're not sure whether your child still fits safely in their current seat, pop in and we'll help you check.

Winter has officially arrived! (Even if Sydney took its sweet time getting the memo... )

As the weather cools down, it's time for our annual reminder:

Puffy jackets and car seats aren't the best winter buddies.

That big fluffy jacket may make your child look like a cute little marshmallow, but in a crash, the padding can compress, leaving the harness too loose to do its job properly.

Instead:
- Dress your child in warm, thin layers
- Add a blanket or jacket over the harness after they're buckled in
