Welcome to Miss Chopsticks online gift shop. Miss Chopsticks is Sydney based jewellery designer named Parry Yang. She was born in China and raised in the small seaside town of Shantou where she learned the art of origami as a child and currently live in Sydney. Miss Chopsticks’ beautiful origami jewellery takes us back through time to the age old craft of paper folding. Origami is an ancient art f

orm practiced widely in Japan and now worldwide. It quite literally means paper folding. It is thought however, that the art's origins took root during the early seventh century, as the technique of paper making was introduced to Japan by China. Miss Chopsticks Origami Jewellery began from Parry’s passion for miniature gadgets, with response to the positive comments she received when people saw her miniature origami designs that she initially created as a hobby. One day it clicked to her that designs could be made tiny enough to be worn as unique piece of jewellery. Parry has put in a considerable amount of effort and skill into hand making these small and intricate creations. Her range of earrings is affordable to all whilst reflecting quality and workmanship. This is your sign… to choose a gift with meaning.

When Andra wanted to give a thoughtful gift to a dear friend grieving the loss of her father, she chose these handmade origami crane earrings as a symbol of peace.

Andra wrote:

“Hi Parry,

The crane earrings arrived and they are so beautiful. I wanted to leave a note of my personal thanks to you as the artist. They are for a dear friend grieving the loss of her father, and I chose these as cranes can represent peace. I know she will love them. I also really appreciated your personal approach in the way you wrapped them beautifully and sent a handwritten thank you. I could literally feel the love coming from your parcel. You don't get this level of personal service from a big seller, and I am so happy to support your beautiful small business.

Thanks again, Andra.”

Her words beautifully express why I create handmade origami jewellery. These are not mass-produced earrings. Each crane is carefully folded by hand using Japanese-inspired washi paper, then finished as unique wearable art in my Sydney studio.

Every order is personally prepared and wrapped with care, making these origami crane earrings a meaningful gift for a grieving friend, a loved one, or anyone who appreciates jewellery with a deeper story.

If you love handmade jewellery, meaningful gifts, Japanese-inspired design and Australian-made wearable art, you are in the right place.

Thank you, Andra, for supporting my small business and allowing me to share your beautiful message.

Between school drop-offs, pick-ups and fulfilling orders, I found a quiet moment to sit above Coogee cliffs and watch the sun.

After so many years living by the sea, I still feel incredibly blessed by this view.

The waves remind me to slow down, breathe deeply and notice the beauty around me. Their sound feels healing—and their rhythm inspires the tiny pieces I create by hand.

For the women who are always caring, creating and giving: let this be your reminder to make space for what restores you.

What helps you slow down? Tell me in the comments.
