Come thrifting with me!

One of my goals this year, is to be able to share with you some of my favourite places to go thrifting in Sydney.

Today I visited my local in Chatswood.

I had half an hour before closing time to have a quick browse and within 5 minutes, I had already found a beautiful silk cargo pocket shirt dress in caramel and some other really great key pieces to create simple and timeless outfits that would work for a summer / autumn wardrobe.

However, my highlight and 'unicorn' find was just minutes before the store was closing...

As I was making my way towards the cashier, I decided to look above the clothing rack (that wasn't even my eye level) as I saw a pair of satin ballerinas sitting on top of a brown box. After looking at the ballerina shoes, I noticed the brown box that it was sitting on was embossed with a very distinctive logo....

*my heart skipped a beat*

I quickly picked up the box and opened the lid to my utter amazement - I was welcomed with the most beautiful sight of these shiny, metallic Gucci Horsebit Loafers...!!

I had to put (drop) everything I was holding on the floor, without making too much of a ruckus, as the store was closing - I examined them quickly and they looked authentic, had a creased but legit certificate and dustbag 😍😍😍

They were my size too. 🙈

Now the question is: Do I really need these delicious, metallic mint green shoes in my life??

This I must wait til morning as I dream (and sleep on it) and ponder if I will indeed need and will actually wear these (and where will I wear these?!) with my existing wardrobe... 🤔🙈

Found these beauties for a try on session yesterday

It was my first time back in a long time at my favourite 'Op Boutique' and it was so good to see my dear friend and store manager, again.

She of course pointed out a few things I needed to try on...and so I did. 😘🙈

(Confession: I may have also purchased that cute white maxi I polled and asked yesterday on my stories... Sorry to the 7 ppl who wisely suggested I didn't need it.... 🙈
(Willpower to not buy anything is low during this crazy period.... If a cute preloved dress could bring a bit of joy to your week... why not right? 🙈🥲)

I promise I will wear it at least 30 times.....🙏😅

Cheering you on this Monday afternoon...
Post lunch, post holidays, post 2nd coffee... post- everything- kinda day... 🤪

That no matter what day you are having, I wanted to encourage you while you scroll, to let you know that:

Even if you don't feel like it or you are making progress... I believe you are doing better than you think!

I guess I'm also cheering myself on too as I aim to complete my Social media course today.
Started yesterday afternoon and ploughed through it today (in between feeding and managing the kids at home while they are on school holidays... 🙈)

Anyways, just gotta do an one hour online exam (without getting any questions wrong) and then I should be certified! 😅🙏🙏🙏

This is one of my goals I want to do this year, to learn something new so I can be better equipped as a business owner and be a better Personal Stylist. 🥰

'𝙊𝙡𝙙 𝙒𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝘿𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙨.'

I'm not the one for new years resolutions myself as it tends to freak me out a bit...🙈

However, my family and I like to sit down at the beginning of the year and have a 'Vision Day', where we write down some of our personal goals we wish to achieve this year and share them with each other, praying and believing for them together.

This year I've written down how I want to:

- Focusing more on re-building /re-branding my styling business and helping the individual.
I wish to be able to do more styling consultations with people and possibly less of the re-selling side.
(As much as I loved finding beautiful pre-loved items to offer here, I want to re-focus my time on other things that could help inspire sustainable fashion in the everyday. 🥰)

- I want to learn something new.
I want to up-skill myself and sharpen what I have. So I'm looking at doing a short online course on social media or even digital marketing...It will be fun to learn and understand how I can do these things better. 🥰 (Love to hear of any courses anyone has done and recommend too!)

- Exercise more. Yes... I know. 🙈 But I really want to see myself get fitter and healthier and by starting to work out at least 30 minutes a day.

For me to write this here and share with you is daunting 🙈 as it means I will have to follow through...
Accountability and consistency is key right?
And I want to do this so that I could possibly share my journey with you, the good, the bad and the real-deal, so we can encourage one another to give this year a good hard go... and I'll be the first to admit it's not going to be easy and quite possibly I may fall over a few times tying, but the main thing is we do try and aim for persistence over perfection.

Yes, 'Old ways do not open new doors' is a saying that is cliche, but it's true.

As maybe the only thing stopping you from stepping into a new adventure, a new season or a new chapter in your life is between you and the door that you can open, if only you would dare to try...

Let's do this 2022! 🚪🔓🥰🙏

Hello!

Not so much a 'styling post' for this Friday but wanted to share something that was on my heart the other day and wondered if it would bless anyone out here...😘

That in the midst of running around and trying to get everything done at this time of the year...

Sorting out everything and running around...
kids finishing school (didn't they just go back?), sorting out end of year gifts, organising those long belated catch up with friends and family while still working on your business and trying to tie loose ends... 🤪🙈

(there is always, always hope.)

(learning to rest and not quit.)

(you are still making progress even if you don't feel like it is.)

(Absolutely yes! Because we still have some much to be grateful for in each and every day. )

Who can resist such a cheerful and happy colour why browsing through the racks right?

Reminds me of hot summers, balmy nights and ice cold mango smoothies. 😎😋🥭

Now if only this heat can stay around just a little longer...🙏☀️
