Not every story that deserves attention ends up trending like a Netflix doco reel.
Late last month, we were recognised as a finalist in the City of Whittlesea Community Contribution Awards.
Being named a finalist had nothing to do with winning and everything about the opportunity it presented to keep the conversation going. To remind people that mental health and homelessness deserve to a conversation in our own backyards and beyond.
To everyone who has supported us, this recognition belongs to you too. Every order helps support organisations on the frontline and keeps these conversations alive.
Awards don’t solve homelessness.
Certificates don’t change someone’s mental health. Recognition doesn’t give someone a safe place to sleep.
But it does do something important - it helps people stop, listen and understand that these issues exist and that every individual behind a statistic is a person and has a story.
So we’ll continue doing what we’ve always done: supporting organisations making a real difference and using every opportunity to remind people that no one should be forgotten.
