Now, that's better 👌

This client approached me asking to help with the fit of her wedding dress. The bodice of the dress was a bit too small and needed a solution for an extension. After some consideration we have decided to add some lace up back around the waist and create that beautiful triangle shaping around the back.

This was the quickest alteration I've had 😁

Some time ago I had this beautiful lady in my sewing room. She needed her dress adjusted, because it was sitting very badly on her. And yes, indeed, the dress was fitting horribly. I tried to see some options to get it fixed, but in my head I had a thought, OMG how did the manufacturer got the fit so wrong. Anyway, when I finally got to fix the dress, I was that close 🤏 to stating to open up the dress and a thought came to my mind. What if we are putting it on in the wrong way. I placed it on my mannequin 🤦. Deep breath 🤣. You can see the result on the photo. A call to a client, she was back in for a fitting, and a miracle - the dress fit like a glove.

Things like that happen with the best of us when we are tired, busy and stressed. Or sometimes we just need a second set of eyes 👀 and a second opinion to get to the truth. I'm glad I had a fresh head that day and ended up not cutting into the dress I didn't need.

This is how I spent my summer 🌞

Just kidding 😃. This was one of my last jobs before 2026. And I think it worked out beautifully.

This client approached me asking to do something with this dress she was given. It was way too small, but my client fell in love with the fabric and just couldn't dispose of it.

It took a few fittings and long brain 🧠 storm, but it was decided to remove sleeves completely and use that fabrics to make panels on the sides to extend and gain some of that width we so desperately needed in the bodice. It didn't help that the dress was truly vintage and was built to last, it took me an eternity to pull it apart 🥴, but I managed. The dress neckline got adjusted as well to achieve a bit more modest look.
In the end I think it was definitely worth it. And I was told, my client received lots of compliments when she was wearing her new- again custom fitted dress.

Great find 🤙

Sustainability is something, that we are all trying to integrate into our lift. And with more and more fast fashion out there polluting our environment, rightly so.

This client approached me asking to help her with a dress. It was an amazing find in a thrift store and she wanted to shorten and even out the hem, so she could wear it more casually.

The hem was very uneven, so I had to measure it from the floor, but when you know what to do it is not a big deal 😀.

Same, but different 😃

This regular client of mine approached me asking to rework her dress. She didn't like shirring on the bodice and wanted me to rework it to make it into a princess seams dress.
No worries 🙂. I have removed all of the shirring, redesigned the bodice and added wider straps.

Beautiful result ❤️

There were hew issues, the dress was too big at the bodice, the straps were too long, the cuffs were too wide, and hem needed to be taken up. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of "the before" alterations, but what a lovely "after", don't you think?

This client came to me with her dress. She said she loves the dress, but there was something in it, that made it look messy. She wanted to hem dress up hoping that this will make it look nicer.
After figuring out how much she wanted to hem it by and measuring the cutline I have realised that the hem of her dress was terribly uneven. Some parts of the dress were stretched and some are not, and difference between those parts could reach up to 10cm.
🤓A bit of trivia for you: This happens when fabric weave is very unstable and it moves with the force of gravity along the bias. To prevent this from happening, after the dress is made, but not hemmed, you should place it on a mannequin and let it hang for a few hours or overnight, and then measure the hem and cut and sew.

Now, this looks better 👌

This client approached me asking to help with the fit of her pants. She had them resized elsewhere and didn't like the final result. There were quite a few issues and I was not able to make it absolutely perfect, due to the restrictive nature of alterations on existing garments vs making "made to measure" garments, but I think we were able to achieve much better fit.
So, this is what I did. I took pants in on the outer sides, and adjusted the shape and length of the saddle of the pants, to make it fit better around the buttock.

It's a beautiful spring 🌼

This client contacted me asking to fix up the bust situation on this dress. The problem was in bust panels being too narrow and showing off way too much skin. A solution came to my mind. I offered to remove some of the flowers from the bottom of the skirt and strategically attach them around the bust area creating a focal point and hiding some skin at the same time. She also asked to attach some of the flowers a bit more securely, so they don't flop down on the skirt.
She was very happy with the result.

Beautiful and delicate 🌸

This client approached me asking to help with the fit of her formal dress. Dress needed tightening around the waist and loosening around the hips, unfortunately I didn't take photos from the original appointment, but I did take photos from the first fitting, after I had already adjusted the waist. After that fitting I adjusted the bust and took the dress hem up.
Sometimes the upper adjustments need to be done before the hem can be measured. And also extremely important, for correct hem measurement, is to have shoes you are planning to wear, with you at fitting/appointment.

It's the little things that make a big difference.🫶

This client approached me asking to fix up the neckline on her new dress.

She didn't like that black lace was not covering the n**e underlay properly and it was showing at the very centre of the bust.

No worries at all. I have lifted up the lace at bust and rearranged it, so all of the n**e fabric would be covered by black lace.
