this month has been {one word}...social

highlights...

👫 double date night inc .cocktail.bar.in.transit with friends (while the kids had their first all in sleepover that went well - so thankful)

👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️attended a beautiful friend's bridal shower (note: 'blush of desire' cocktail for the win) and celebrated at their gorgeous wedding planned in just 4.5 months! 🎊

🥳 our last 2 family birthdays for the year - a 6th Pokemon themed gathering and a very laid back 40th lunch/drinks

🍁 loved our bush kindy excursion with so much that I took the kids back that weekend to explore further 🥰

🖍️ been loving spending time with Miss 3 - at kindergym, seeing her joy as she writes letters and numbers on her own, receiving her Hippy box and first booklet from .australia, painting at storytime, etc

this month I have learnt...making recipes from kids cookbooks usually means they're won't be eaten by the kids...

this month I...read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, got bitten by a net-casting spider - I thought it was dead - NA! Also looks like it has 4 legs only!

next month I plan to...read Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator (among other things of course)

If you have kids, what books have you enjoyed reading with them as a parent?

Lessons from my Plants - Blog Pt2

To be honest, I had only successfully kept a couple of plants alive in my entire life. But I had been wanting more greenery in our home for a while, especially now that our youngest was almost three and I no longer had to worry quite so much about soil being spread over the floor.

So I said yes.

And unexpectedly, those plants became some of my greatest teachers this year.

Note: I chose no plants at child height for years. For 2 reasons - to not have another thing to look after & clean up if little hands displaced the soil.

Curious what you said no to when you had little kids to give yourself a little breathing space?

There's something pretty exciting happening tonight about 6.30pm AEST.

Not only is it a full moon - apparently it's going to be a Blue Moon! Ever heard someone say 'once in a blue moon? - they are rare!

Tonight would be the perfect reason to celebrate and/or practice gratitude with the month that was with this very special full moon event.

If tonight doesn't work for you to sit down with your notecards and reflect on the month that has been? Decide when does and pop it in your diary/calendar - then put your boundaries around and protect this time.

I'd love to know if you see the Blue Moon tonight - let he know below 🌑💙

New blog post - Why Personal Growth Isn’t Linear: Lessons from my Plants

The longer I sat there, I started to see it for what it was – the blooms were at different stages simply because that’s how it was meant to be.
Some were in full bloom.
Some were only just opening.
Some were merely buds.
And yet they were all part of the same plant.

Update: the pram has SOLD!

Since our youngest turned 3, things have been feeling lighter.

All the things have been updated over the past 6 months:
Oct 2025: cot -> big bed, change table -> gone
April 2026: seat at table -> gone
May 2026: pram -> gone

Honestly I was a baby wearing mama and rarely use the pram anyway. But it does feel big - in the best ways!

What have you let go of that signalled the end of an era? What was the feeling afterwards?

It’s that time of month again (no – not that one) to find your February notecard and settle into your ritual for reflecting.

One of our prompts (on the back) is ‘soundtrack of the month’…it doesn’t have to be a song – maybe something you kids are consistently saying? An affirmation you’re repeating? Something else?

What’s your soundtrack for Feb? Would love for you to share in the comments.

Mine was ‘well you’re not allowed on my bed then’ (when one child has annoyed another)…

January feels like an age ago...I haven't finished my Jan notecard - so, if you are too - then that's more than ok!

I do have a trusty paper calendar I print every year to make notes on re: our happenings so that when I go to sit down and reflect I know it's all there.

What do you use to help remember what you've been up to in your current season?

02/02/2026

I feel so silly! I made a mistake. I had hoped to be your body double for your Jan notecards and answer any questions...but I can't go live cos I don't have 1000 followers! I'm so sorry!!

Our yearly notecards have been selected for special Xmas presents this year 💝

My little helper got a kinder surprise this morning - yes that's what 'kitten pies' is being referred to in the story 😂❤️
