So much fun teaching everyone to make their own plant hangers on Saturday. The finished hangers looked so good and we had a few giggles along the way. Thank you Sarah for having us in your beautiful light filled studio, full of beautiful flowers from your garden . It might have been the last day of winter but it felt so spring like! I’ll be planning a couple more workshops in the run up to Christmas too so keep an eye out🎄.

On a roll with Etsy... I’ve uploaded lots of beautiful big skeins of recycled silk. The colours are so gorgeous. These ones are spun much tighter than the small balls and of course are much longer so perfect for a knitting or crochet project. There’s also more options for the little balls too, these are what I use for my bowls.

I’ve added some of my recycled silk bowls to my Etsy shop. I love how the silk makes each one unique, even I can’t tell before I start as I have to wait for the ball of silk to unroll. These little ones are perfect beside your bed to put you favourite pieces of jewellery in or that loose change from your pocket.

I’ve been doing so much sewing since winter arrived but I haven’t made any bowls! I’ve never stopped making my own clothes but I’m back in an intense sewing for me phase.... and I’m loving it. Here’s one of my favourite recent makes the by . I love the design, a little bit 80s retro, and the fabric (seeyouatsix from ) even has ginko leaves on it.
I’m about to cut out another. This time I’ll add about 5cm to the length and the sleeves.

I dyed this one with walnuts from our garden. I love deep, dark brown that it created and the variation along the length of the rope. Another one in my favourite asymmetrical shape, with a p**a knit on the front. .

Sunrise on a snow covered Mt Bogong. I love early mornings and my drive over Tawonga Gap this morning was just perfectly ( and purely accidentally) timed.

I sewed up my eucalyptus rope into these bowls. It’s such a warm orange/brown. The big bowl was going to be a bag but it looked so perfect once I got to the size it is that I stopped. Then I tried again and I really do love the tote bag too. It’s the biggest thing I’ve made so far. You can find all these in local stockist in Mount Beauty. I never manage to leave empty handed.

The weather has turned and on this wild and wet weekend I finally got my dye pot out. The house has been filled with the beautiful scent of eucalyptus and I think my rope will be a gorgeous colour. I’ve found it hard to concentrate on making recently, feeling restless and drawn to being outdoors and doing but as the seasons start to change I can feel the pull home and back to making and creating.

Beautiful Mount Bogong where I was lucky enough to spend the day hiking and flying with a great group of friends.... the morning light, the beautiful flowers and alpine landscape, the snooze in the sun, lots of laughs and then the view from the sky. A good day... I even managed to pick up some more sticks for bowls and macrame.

Yet again simple wins out. I’d been trying to make this bowl with different colour threads but for some reason my machine just kept skipping stitches. So out with my unpicker and back to neutral.... but I think I love it more. You can see all the variations of the avocado dye and the p**a know really stands out. I also had enough rope left for a little bag.
