We were blown away by the creativity, enthusiasm and talent of the students - some of the best kangaroo we’ve tasted! Even the salad was made exciting with an innovative kiwi fruit and bush spice dressing!

We are incredibly grateful to the Peel Development Commission and Minister for Peel, Jessica Stojkovski MLA, for taking the time to visit Waroona and see firsthand the positive impact of the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants program.

As a proud 100% Aboriginal-owned enterprise, Boodja Ventures is honoured to be a Round 8 RED Grant recipient. The grant is helping us bring our specialised mobile catering unit to life, creating new opportunities across events, tourism, and regional Western Australia.

This investment is about more than equipment. It's about creating pathways for economic participation, supporting regional communities, showcasing Aboriginal excellence, and building a stronger future for generations to come.

We congratulate all RED Grant recipients and thank the Peel Development Commission for their commitment to empowering businesses that are driving growth, innovation, and local employment throughout the region.

One week on, and we are absolutely thrilled to reflect on our fully booked Bush Food and Medicine Workshop held at the wonderful Waroona Community Resource Centre during NAIDOC Week.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended. It was inspiring to see such a diverse group of participants from different ages, backgrounds, communities and localities coming together with genuine curiosity, respect and enthusiasm to learn about the rich knowledge and traditions of Aboriginal bush foods and medicines.

The engagement throughout the workshop was truly special. From thoughtful questions and shared conversations to a willingness to connect with Country and culture, every attendee helped create a welcoming and meaningful learning environment. We deeply appreciate the respect shown towards these important cultural knowledges and thank you all for being part of the experience.

We would also like to sincerely acknowledge and thank the for hosting the event and providing such a fantastic space for community learning and connection. A special thank you also to for their valuable support in helping make this event possible.

NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate the strength, resilience and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together to learn, connect and share in that spirit.
