Behind the scenes at our Palm Beach photo shoot. Tuesday was a very exciting day for us at Jac Cadeaux — our Spring campaign photoshoot in beautiful Palm Beach, on Sydney’s northern beaches.
We shot in a luxury home overlooking Pittwater, with a team of 10 headed by renowned fashion photographer Steven Chee.
The day began early with hair and makeup at the house, before we headed down to the beach to shoot our first three looks. We were fortunate to have the use of a gorgeous convertible sports car, and thankfully the weather held for the few hours we were there at the beach.
Then it was back to the house to work our way through about 20 different looks. Charlie, the videographer was capturing each outfit and lots of those wonderful behind-the-scenes moments.
Our model once again was the beautiful Valeria. Of Russian background, she has such an elegant, effortless quality and feels so perfectly Jac Cadeaux.
Of course, no photoshoot is ever without a few little hiccups!
At one point, Claire, our brand director, managed to lock herself in one of the bathrooms. Luckily, I heard her calls for help and was able to rescue her promptly! Then the roof on the convertible refused to open, so we had to ring the owner for instructions.
Down at the beach, a group of workmen became increasingly curious about our shoot — and particularly about our lovely model. They seemed in no hurry to get back to work!
The rain arrived, luckily when we were safely back at the house. The only umbrella we could find was a bright red ladybird umbrella, which Steven’s assistant dutifully held over him while he continued shooting. Not quite the chic Palm Beach accessory we had envisaged!
We were able to laugh about all the little mishaps along the way because, after all, fashion is meant to be fun.
All in all, it was a huge success and such a wonderful day with a fabulous team. I can’t wait to share more of our Spring looks — and the beautiful campaign images — with you over the coming weeks.

As we await the arrival of spring here in Australia, a little inspiration from Paris… 🌸🇫🇷
There’s something so beautiful about Paris in spring — Parisians gathering in the parks, flower shops spilling out onto the pavement, ladies gliding by on bicycles, café terraces coming back to life and those first soft, sunny days.
A little reminder of what’s just around the corner for us.

It has been a busy week for us at Jac Cadeaux. After our Spring/Summer studio shoot last week, we have been uploading all the beautiful new images and unpacking the clothes, returning everything to the racks and bringing a little order back to the showroom.
A real highlight of the week was welcoming to Sydney our French manufacturer, Laurent, who came to Darling Point to meet with Claire, Maddy and me. We prepared fresh madeleines to have with our tea – appropriate fare for the occasion!
We spent the afternoon talking through our current production and sharing thoughts and ideas for next Winter. Laurent had brought a selection of fabric swatches for us to look through, although he was delightedly distracted by Susi, our Cavalier, who decided to sit in on the meeting and make herself very much part of proceedings.
That evening, we took Laurent to dinner at The Dry Dock in Balmain, a renowned “gastropub.” Claire had organised for Laurent to catch the ferry from Circular Quay, close to where he was staying at the Shangri-La Hotel in The Rocks. My husband, Michael, and Claire’s husband, Cormack, joined us, and it turned into a fabulous evening of good food, w**e and conversation.
The night ended rather amusingly, with Michael and me driving Laurent back to his hotel in our rather cramped, classic sports car – not the most luxurious ride home, but certainly memorable!
It was such a pleasure to finally spend this time with Laurent and to hear more about his family’s history in clothing manufacturing. There is something very special about working with people who have generations of knowledge and craftsmanship behind them.
These sorts of meetings are so important in our business. Beyond fabrics, samples and production schedules, it is the relationships we build that really matter –whether that’s sharing a meal with the people who make our clothes, or the connections we have with our customers.

Friday was one of those days that reminded me just how much I love what we do.
We were at a studio in Alexandria, Sydney, photographing our new Spring collection for our website pages, and after all the planning, fittings and preparation, it was so exciting to watch everything come together.
We had such a wonderful team on set. Our beautiful model, Ilona, was born in Australia and has a Czech-French-Polynesian background. She now lives and works in New York, but luckily for us, spends around three months of the year working in Sydney.
Cheryl was styling, Katie worked her magic on hair and makeup, while Claire was at the monitor, keeping everything moving and running through each look one by one. Behind the camera was Jo, who did an incredible job capturing the collection and bringing our Spring vision to life.
It was a full 12-hour day, but rather than feeling exhausted, I left the studio completely invigorated. There is something so rewarding about seeing months of ideas and preparation become real – and I’m so excited for you to see what we created.
We’ve already put a few special pieces from the new collection online for pre-order, with delivery expected in a week or so. And there is so much more coming very soon!
I can’t wait to show you everything.
