The countdown is ON to the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026, tipping off in Berlin, Germany, from now til the 13th.
The expanded 16-team field features the biggest stars in women’s basketball, including A’ja Wilson, Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese and Belgium’s Emma Meesseman.
ALL EYES ON THE OPALS!
Australia enters the tournament as a genuine contender, with Ezi Magbegor, Alanna Smith, Jade Melbourne, Steph Talbot, Isobel Borlase and the rest of the Opals ready to take on the world. Australia will face Puerto Rico, Türkiye and Belgium in Group C, with all three group games tipping at 7:30 PM AEST — perfect prime-time viewing for Aussie fans!
Australia's last World Cup gold came in 2006, and after taking bronze at the 2022 World Cup in Sydney, the Opals will be hungry to climb back onto the top step.
