It’s the heart of winter in Tasmania so the garden is slowing… we still have kale and cabbage waiting to be harvested but I didn’t quite get my succession planning right.. the birds ate a lot of the seedlings I grew this year 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦‍♀️. The joy of gardening. 😃

Our veggie garden is 8x5 metres with a berry patch and chook run attached.

You can still be harvesting from your winter garden in Tassie.. quick crops like radish, leafy greens like spinach and kale along with root veggies like beetroot and carrots and the odd cabbage and cauliflower all add to our meals.

Recipe

4 litres filtered water
1 1/2 cups of raspberries (give or take)
1 1/2 cups of sugar
Juice of 2 lemons
1 1/2 cups of active ginger bug. (Recipe on the blog)

July is a great time to be in the garden prepping for the spring… I often have my box of seeds out looking at what I will try this season in the garden. I’ve planted dwarf fruit trees, and have a little list of new varieties of veg to try this season.

Winter tour of our vegetable garden in our suburban garden. Our veggie garden is 5x8 metres plus our berry cage and chicken yard. Our aim is to grow and preserve more from garden.
