I playfully refer to myself as a headless chicken, always busy and rushing from one thing to another.
A few months ago I made the decision to slow down for my own sanity, I took a step back from the market, slowed down my production and made basic self care a priorty. Nothing extreme just me taking a beat before rushing in to the next thing.
What that looks like now is favoring movement like long morning walks with the dogs, yoga and tennis over hardcore workouts.
•
Windows down enjoying the drive to pick up clay from Hammie instead of mindlessly driving there thinking about all the things I need to do.
•
Choosing to make a post tennis meal at home instead of grabbing something less nourishing on the go.
•
Enjoying a small coffee on the verandah.
•
Taking time to get ready properly for the day instead of rushing to work in tennis clothes.
•
And lastly venting my kiln so it can cool down properly instead of forcing the kiln to cool down quickly with a fan and heat resistant gloves!

It’s the small things, neglected over time, that have caused the feeling of exhaustion and it will be the small things, done over time that will bring positive change.
