ফরিদপুর জেলার একজন পরিচিত ও প্রতিশ্রুতিশীল ক্রিকেট আম্পায়ার হিসেবে ধীরে ধীরে সুনাম অর্জন করছেন মো. শেখ মিলন।
দীর্ঘ প্রায় ৭–৮ বছর ধরে তিনি নিয়মিতভাবে ফরিদপুর জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার অধীনে বিভিন্ন ক্রিকেট ম্যাচে দক্ষতার সঙ্গে আম্পায়ারিং করে আসছেন।
১৯৮৭ সালের ৪ জানুয়ারি ফরিদপুর শহরের গোয়ালচামট এলাকার ওয়ারলেস পাড়ায় জন্মগ্রহণ করেন মো. শেখ মিলন।
তিনি ২০০৩ সালে এসএসসি, ২০০৫ সালে এইচএসসি এবং ২০১১ সালে ডিগ্রি সম্পন্ন করেন। বর্তমানে তিনি ফরিদপুরে স্টার ‌ স্পোর্টস এর বিশ্বস্ত পার্টনার এমকেএস প্রতিষ্ঠানের মার্কেটিং অ্যান্ড সেলস বিভাগে কর্মরত আছেন।
মো. শেখ মিলন বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট আম্পায়ার্স অ্যান্ড স্কোরার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন, ফরিদপুর জেলা শাখার একজন সদস্য।
ফরিদপুর জেলা ক্রিকেট লিগের চারটি ফরম্যাট—প্রিমিয়ার ডিভিশন, প্রথম বিভাগ, দ্বিতীয় বিভাগ ও কোয়ালিফাই বিভাগে তিনি নিয়মিতভাবে ম্যাচ পরিচালনা করে থাকেন।
এছাড়াও জেলার বাইরে বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ টুর্নামেন্টেও তিনি সফলভাবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে ঢাকার বিভিন্ন কর্পোরেট লিগ, রাজবাড়ী মেয়র কাপ, ভাঙ্গা প্রিমিয়ার লিগ, মুকসুদপুর, গোপালগঞ্জ, মাদারীপুর, ঢাকা সুপ্রিম কোর্ট প্রিমিয়ার লিগ, গাজীপুর লিজেন্ড কাপ, মুন্সিগঞ্জ প্রিমিয়ার লিগ এবং মমিনখার হাট প্রিমিয়ার লিগসহ আরও বেশ কয়েকটি প্রতিযোগিতা।
এসব টুর্নামেন্টে দায়িত্বশীল আম্পায়ারিংয়ের মাধ্যমে তিনি ক্রীড়াঙ্গনে ইতোমধ্যে প্রশংসা কুড়িয়েছেন।আম্পায়ার হওয়ার আগে তিনি ফরিদপুর জেলার একজন নিয়মিত ক্রিকেটার ছিলেন। জেলার তিনটি ফরম্যাটেই তিনি খেলেছেন। প্রিমিয়ার ডিভিশনে ইডেন ক্লাব, প্রথম বিভাগে আনন্দ আবির ও জিএফসিসি এবং দ্বিতীয় বিভাগে ওয়েস্ট ইন্ড স্পোর্টস, বন্ধন স্পোর্টিং ক্লাব ও চারু স্মৃতি ক্লাবের হয়ে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। পাশাপাশি তিনি “শেফা স্পোর্টিং ক্লাব” নামে একটি ক্রীড়া সংগঠনের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা।
মো. শেখ মিলনের মতে, “ভালো আম্পায়ার হতে হলে সবার আগে ভালো মানুষ হতে হবে।” ভবিষ্যতে একজন মানসম্মত ও স্বনামধন্য আম্পায়ার হিসেবে নিজেকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করাই তার স্বপ্ন।
তার আম্পায়ারিং জীবনে দিকনির্দেশনা দিয়েছেন ফরিদপুর জেলার সিনিয়র আম্পায়ার ও বাংলাদেশ আম্পায়ার্স অ্যান্ড স্কোরার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের ঢাকা বিভাগীয় কমিটির সহ-সভাপতি জহিরুল হক জিন্নাহ। এছাড়াও সিনিয়র আম্পায়ার দীপন কুমার ঘোষসহ ফরিদপুর জেলা আম্পায়ার্স অ্যান্ড স্কোরার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সকল সদস্যের সহযোগিতার জন্য তিনি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেছেন।
ব্যক্তিগত জীবনে তিনি এক ছেলে ও এক মেয়ের জনক। তিনি সকলের কাছে তার পরিবারের জন্য দোয়া কামনা করেছেন।
