যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের পাল্টা শুল্ক এড়াতে আগেভাগে পণ্য পাঠানোর কারণে চট্টগ্রামের ২২টি ডিপোতে রপ্তানি পণ্যের চাপ বেড়েছে। জুলাইয়ে ৯৯ হাজার কনটেইনার প্রস্তুত হলেও রপ্তানি হয়েছে ৮১ হাজার, বাকিগুলো এখনও বন্দরে পাঠানো হচ্ছে।

ট্রাম্প প্রশাসনের ঘোষিত শুল্কের কারণে মার্কিন ক্রেতারা ১ আগস্টের আগেই পণ্য নিত চেয়েছেন। এতে ডিপো ও বন্দরে চাপ সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। শীতকালীন পোশাক ও বাড়তি শুল্কের শঙ্কায় রপ্তানিকারকেরা আগেভাগে পণ্য পাঠান। জুলাইয়ে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ৮০ কোটি ডলারের পোশাক রপ্তানি হয়েছে, যা স্বাভাবিকের তুলনায় বেশি।
