We’ve been keeping a secret.

It began with a detour.
It’s for those who still dress for the evening,
take the long way round,
and know that some places stay with you.

On 12 November,
we’ll share it among the flowers at WILDER, Antwerp.
Aperitivo, a small circle and portraits by Gonda Bemink.

Same outfit. 5 different women;
1. Winter Python: some call us too much.
You’re right, we are too much to handle.
2. Cacao Brown: we still own our first good bag.
And still wear it.
3. Bordeaux: We never leave before the second bottle.
4. Winter Python: we prefer Winter. For the coats.
5. Black: we’re usually the last ones to leave.
Nobody knows why.

Every Vain bag begins not in a factory, but at a workbench.

In a family atelier in Italy, our handbags are made by people who have passed their craft down from one generation to the next. The leather is selected, cut and stitched meticulously, some steps are automated but most is still done by hand. Every edge is finished, every detail is checked.
Nothing is rushed.

That is what VAIN is about: not making less because we have to, but making better because we can.

I thought I was building a brand.

Turns out I am building a community too…

Every VAIN Night has a keynote.
Always a woman. Always a story worth hearing.

About ambition, choices, setbacks, courage —
and doing things your own way.

Because women inspiring women
belongs in the VAIN world.

When I started VAIN,
I wanted to create distinctive pieces
for women who know who they are - and still search for that piece that provides them self confidence.

I didn’t realise how much
I would love bringing those women together.

Sharing a glass of ch*****ne
and fancy bites.

That might be my favourite
VAIN evolution yet.
