Let me tell you why it has been extremely quiet …

My teenager’s health got really bad in February (they have a primary immune deficiency and Crohn’s disease) with 2 hospitalisations in 4 months.
So being a mom was my only priority!
We are very lucky to be surrounded by a great team of doctors and after some long months they are finally better and started a new year of dancing and many other creative projects 🙏🏼

These months have been difficult and forced me to think about everything, including BORBOLETA.
So the past months I have been working behind the scenes. Testing new patterns and shapes, focusing on what I want to achieve and ending collaborations which were no longer in line with what I need.
But I am also preparing some exciting things that I will share with you very soon ✨

Just a little more patience… because I will be back even stronger and more determined then before 🦋

What is FASHION REVOLUTION WEEK?

24th April marks 10 years since the Rana Plaza factory building in Bangladesh collapsed in a preventable accident. More than 1,100 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history.

Fashion Revolution Week is about remembering Rana Plaza and the lives lost, and demand that no one dies for fashion. It is about a global fashion industry that conserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit.

BORBOLETA: handmade, unique and zero waste.

My sewing machine, my creative buddy for the past 25 years.

Thanks to BORBOLETA, I can do more than just create and sew, I can add value by giving new life to old clothes while protecting our beautiful planet.

Upcycling

Up-what? Up-cycling: Revaluating old pieces.

We all have clothes in our closet we are attached to but no longer wear or the first baby clothes of our kids we want to keep as a souvenir.

BORBOLETA, gives those clothes a new life by transforming them into something new and unique. So they are used again and no longer just taking space.

From the first baby clothes of your child I can make a stuffed toy or a patchwork blanket. Or turn your teenager's favourite hoody into a laptop sleeve or a cute little bag. Your beloved leather jacket in your closet that is worn out will be transformed into a handbag.
