Resortecs

Resortecs Resortecs is an award-winning start-up that develops Design for Disassembly solutions.

We drive full circularity in the fashion industry with heat-dissolvable stitching threads and thermal disassembly systems that make textile recycling easy.

For years, circularity in fashion has focused on materials, but materials alone don’t make products recoverable.
Construction does.
That’s why our partnership with .group AMANN matters.
Smart Stitch™️ was engineered by Resortecs to make garments adaptable from the seam onwards, enabling repair, transformation, disassembly, and high-value recovery. Now, with AMANN producing Smart Stitch™️ globally, design-for-disassembly becomes accessible at industrial scale.
Not changing how products perform, changing what happens after.

Today, we’re proud to announce our partnership with AMANN Group, a global leader in high-performance sewing threads.

Together, we are taking a critical step forward: embedding disassembly directly into garment construction, at scale.
With Smart Stitch™ engineered by Resortecs, now produced by AMANN, brands can integrate design-for-disassembly into their products without changing how they design, source, produce, or perform.

Because the challenge has never been ambition, this partnership enables:
– Global seamless integration into existing manufacturing with AMANN
– Industrial-scale disassembly through Smart Disassembly™
– High-quality material recovery at end-of-life

And most importantly, it turns circularity from a constraint into a system built into the product itself.
This is not just a technology collaboration, but a step toward a new standard: Design to Evolve, Build to Disassemble.

🌍 We just raised €6M to fix textile waste.

Less than 1% of clothes get recycled into new clothes. Why? They can't be taken apart efficiently.

That changes today.

Who believed in us:
🇯🇵 Goldwin Play Earth Fund (Japan's outdoor apparel leader)
🇧🇪 SFPIM - Belgium's sovereign wealth fund
🇪🇺 European Innovation Council
💚 Plus our incredible existing investors

What's next:
We're building 5 textile disassembly facilities across Europe in the next 5 years. The first facility will be operational in 2027 with a processing capcity of 3,000 tonnes of clothing yearly.

Now we're building the infrastructure to close the loop.

This isn't just a Resortecs milestone. It's a step forward for circular fashion. ♻️

Can polyester ever go circular? The U.S. has work to do ♻️

Did you know that polyester textiles make up 60% of U.S. PET use, yet recycling is almost nonexistent? 🤯

In 2022, the U.S. consumed 5.6 million tons of polyester textiles—that’s 17 kg per person and about 9% of global polyester production. 🏭👕 Half of this went into apparel, showing that circularity needs to go beyond just clothing.

But here’s the truth: Ambitious recycling targets won’t succeed without the right technologies. That’s where solutions like Active Disassembly come in, paving the way for scalable polyester recycling and true circularity.

Circularity needs investment—and a Competitive EU ♻️🇪🇺

For Europe to truly lead in sustainability and hit its Green Deal targets, we need to talk about action. 🌍

The challenge?
➡️ Legal uncertainty and uneven competition with non-EU countries are slowing down key industries like chemicals and plastics—the backbone of circularity.
➡️ A staggering 60% of EU companies see legislation as the biggest barrier to investing (Draghi report).

So, what’s the solution?
By focusing on regional circularity and cutting reliance on imported raw materials, the EU can slash its material footprint and position itself as a global leader in sustainability and innovation.

But we need everyone on board—from policymakers to industry leaders. 💡

What steps do you think the EU should take to accelerate this shift? Drop your thoughts below 👇 and let’s drive the circular economy forward together!

The EU is advancing its sustainability agenda through the revised ESPR package, setting high standards for recycled content targets across EU countries. 👕♻️

The limited availability of high-quality recycled feedstock poses a threat to achieving those. For the regulations to be achievable and efficient pre-processing of textiles to be achieved, Resortecs proposes the following recommendations. ⬆️

Fashion's Sustainability Dilemma: Voluntary Action or Regulation? 🌍⚖️

As supply chain issues and consumer demand concerns take priority, sustainability is slipping off the radar for fashion executives. The State of Fashion Report highlights troubling trends:

➡️ Most brands are missing their sustainability goals, many of which fail to meet the scale of the climate crisis.
➡️ New EU rules banning the disposal of unsold textiles by 2026 could help reduce waste—but how feasible is this for an industry dependent on lengthy, global supply chains and fast fashion cycles?
➡️ With an estimated $1 trillion needed for decarbonization, a fragmented supply chain, and no meaningful carbon pricing, voluntary efforts alone may not suffice.

The report advocates for collaboration, but is that enough? Or does fashion need targeted regulation to finally align profits with sustainability? 💰
