Fantastisch nieuws! In de QS World University Ranking klimmen we van plaats 63 naar plaats 60. Daarmee haalt onze universiteit haar beste positie ooit in de internationale ranking! 💪
KU Leuven blijft de hoogst gerangschikte Belgische instelling in de ranking, en de enige in de top 100. Een opsteker voor onze onderzoekers, studenten, personeelsleden en alumni!
“Deze stijging onderstreept dat onze universiteit tot de wereldtop behoort en stevig verankerd is in het mondiale academische landschap”, zegt rector Luc Sels. “Ze is de vertaling van het harde werk van velen én van de strategische keuzes die in de voorbije jaren gemaakt zijn: investeren in internationale samenwerking, in onderzoekskwaliteit en in maatschappelijke relevantie.”

Great news! Our University climbs from the 63rd to the 60th place in the 2025 QS World University Ranking, obtaining its highest rank ever in the international ranking! 💪
KU Leuven is still the highest ranking Belgian institution in the QS ranking, and the only Belgian institution in the top 100. A boost for our researchers, students, staff and alumni!
‘This climb highlights that our University has its place among the world’s best institutions, and that it is firmly rooted in the global academic landscape,’ says Rector Luc Sels. ‘This positive ranking is the result of the hard work of many and of the strategic choices that have been made in recent years: investing in international cooperation, in the quality of research, and in social commitment.’
