When GMC seats turn into a mystery to solve 🧐🔎 It’s high time to focus on it! 💪
A lot is happening right now:
some parts are already produced, others are in prototype stage, and a fitting test is planned next week. 🏭
But honestly… the biggest part of the work right now feels like playing Sherlock Holmes 🕵️♀️
The deeper I go into original wartime seats, cushions, spring frames and factory photos, the more inconsistencies I find between reproductions, documentation and original parts.
Some details simply don’t match. 🤔
So the mission stays the same:
develop something as close as possible to 100% original and accurate, and also trace the timeline of modifications depending on production year.
That means comparing NOS parts, historical photos, dismantled original seats, digging into books and studying every surviving detail I can find 📚
And honestly… that’s also what makes this project so fulfilling 🙂
So if you also have original seats or parts at home and have a little time to take a few photos, send me a message 📩
Or if you want me to come take a look in person, let me know. Maybe we can organize something before Normandy 🍻
