After seeing a story on the news reel about West African cotton prints being designed and printed, Polly Hornburg decided to order a bale of assorted printed fabric. Unbeknownst to her, the bale contained 22,000 yards of six designs in three colour ways. The dining room table was soon turned into a cutting table and local seamstresses were hired...

For a number of years the floors above the main

Calypso store on Front Street were bustling with Bermuda's own design studio. Now the Calypso Group sources iconic brands from Paris, London, Italy and New York.
