✨ Our Final Holiday Collection ✨
Petit Peony is releasing our last Holiday Collection for the foreseeable future — so please grab your cherished, classic pieces while inventory lasts. ❤️
As we share this collection, my heart is full of gratitude and reflection. For over 11 years, it has been the greatest honor and privilege to design the clothing my own children — and so many of yours — have worn throughout their magical childhoods. ✨
What started as a dream became a beautiful reality filled with memories, laughter, and love. Every twirl, every photo, every special moment captured in Petit Peony will forever remind me of the innocence, playfulness, and wonder that inspired it all. 🌿
To our incredible community — thank you for believing in us, for celebrating the joy of childhood, and for supporting Petit Peony all these years. You have been part of something truly special. 💕
This isn’t goodbye. I’ll continue to share updates here as we embark on new creative projects and continue the meaningful work of our foundation.
With endless gratitude and love,
— Kate & the Petit Peony Team 🤍

Rise Above Mean Girl Culture ✨

Do you know an adult or child who:

Ignores women in public despite once being part of the friend circle
Purposely excludes or is rude to certain people
Is dismissive or unkind to your children
Once wanted to be your friend, but suddenly turned on you for no reason
👉 That’s classic mean girl clique culture.

These patterns don’t stop at middle school—they show up in adulthood too. The “mean girl” thrives on control, gossip, and exclusion, often targeting the kind, the confident, and even former friends.

💡 But here’s the truth: we don’t have to accept it, and we don’t have to pass it down to the next generation.

In my latest Substack, I share my own story and what I’ve taught my daughters (ages 12 and 14) about standing tall, choosing true friends, and never dimming their light.

You don’t need millions in funding to start a business.

I built two companies without outside capital:
👗 A children’s clothing brand (Petit Peony)
🏥 A medical supply company (GCB Medical)

Both grew because I asked for commitments before capital. Family loans were treated like real loans. Every dollar mattered.

Bootstrapping forces discipline. It keeps you close to your customer. And it builds companies that last.

I wrote about the myth of startup funding—and why skin in the game matters more than investor money.

From the outside, my “success story” looks like GCB Medical—the company that let me leave my corporate job, brought my husband home after 15 years at Stryker, and gave us the freedom to live out our dreams on a Vermont farm and summers by the bay. 🌿☀️
But if you ask me, my greatest success isn’t a company, a title, or a material thing. It’s my family. 💕
It’s being able to sit at my daughter Georgia’s bedside for 6 months at Boston Children’s and fight for her life with her. It’s having the flexibility to be present with all four of my children while building something meaningful.
Even my first venture, Petit Peony, which never scaled the way I imagined, brought us so much joy, opportunity, and lessons. Some might call it a failure—but for me, it was the launchpad into everything that came after.
I just shared a new essay on Substack about how I’ve redefined success and failure through my own journey.
✨ Would love to hear from you—how do you define success? ✨

Can women really “have it all”? Or are we just burning out trying?
We’ve been told we can do it all—build empires, raise families, never miss a milestone, and break every glass ceiling along the way. But here’s the truth: we can’t do it all at the same time. And pretending we can is costing us.

I’ve lived the trade-offs—through breastfeeding in boardrooms, launching a business during nap times, and choosing ski races over strategy calls. What I’ve learned is that ambition and motherhood aren’t mutually exclusive—but they do require constant negotiation.

👉 In this piece, I’m sharing the real story behind the myth of “having it all,” what balance actually looks like, and why the narrative needs to change—for us, and for the next generation. link in bio and on stories!
