With hearts full of gratitude and inspiration, we concluded the 6th RWC — Retina World Congress — in Fort Lauderdale. As the lights of another unforgettable edition come to an end, my mind travels back to a special moment during the AAO Congress in Chicago, in 2012, when the dream of building a truly global retina congress was first born in a conversation with my dear friend Dr. Tarek Hassan.
What followed were countless meetings, endless email exchanges, and years of dedication until, together with Dr. Rishi Singh, Barry Kuppermann, and Kourous Rezaei, the inaugural congress finally became a reality in 2017.
To witness, nearly a decade later, the remarkable success of RWC — welcoming colleagues from all corners of the world and gathering such an extraordinary scientific level in retina — fills the heart with energy, purpose, and inspiration to continue striving every day to do even more for the global retina community.
My deepest gratitude to every colleague who believed in this dream, supported this journey, and helped transform RWC into something increasingly greater, brighter, and more meaningful with each passing year.
Above all, I thank God and all the colleagues and friends who make RWC such a brilliant and magnificent
