Women entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers in to kickstart the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) from 11 January 2024.

This cohort of comprises 150 competitively selected women aged between 21 and 54 from across 's 10 districts. 86% of the women are based in the South East, Southern, Central, Kweneng and Kgatleng districts; while 14% are based in the Ngamiland, Chobe, North East, Kgalagadi and Ghanzi districts.

is a 6 months development program that aims to strengthen the trade and industry capacity of Botswana's enterprising women in the following eligible sectors:

• Handicrafts (Arts and Crafts)
• Jewellery and Semi-Precious Stones
• Leather and Leather Products
• Textiles/Apparel
• Horticulture and Agro-processing
• Natural (Indigenous) Products
• Meat and Meat Products
