Cleveland Place Come visit us for a memorable maritime experience! Book shop --- a very wide selection of new, used, and some rare books. Our used books are VERY gently used.

Cleveland Place is an historic village home, former Bed & Breakfast, unique Bookshop, and Artisan Shop overlooking the bay in Alma, New Brunswick, at the East Gate of Fundy National Park. Our new books are chosen from many sources for their high quality, value, and appeal. Artisan shop --- One of the first in the area, for over 30 years we've featured an excellent collection of handmade work by bo

th new and established artists and crafters throughout the Maritimes. Demonstrations and workshops are offered from time to time. The Studio -- A terrific space with a variety of work stations for fibre arts in weaving, spinning, and sewing, pottery, fine art, letterpress, and other creative outlets. Visits and workshops are by appointment when available.

Heads up! The shops are opening later this afternoon— our family is coming over to wonder at this magnificent specimen in the Gardens at Cleveland Place— come see for yourself after noon.

So here’s why we hastily closed early yesterday. Mid-day. On a Saturday. In summer. What was such an emergency you might ask?

Marion Deschênes alerted to an art show in Riverview, so with cartoon-like shutting of the shops, gathering the car keys, and screeching outta the driveway, we made it just in time to find Nicholas Walsh of Red Leaf Art!

We’re looking forward to see more of his work— this selection of his playing cards and book are original bodies of work featuring naturalist themes and inspiration is a good match — it’s in our private collection, but we’ll share, or perhaps you’d like to wager over a game of cards….
