Busy day in the sewing room. Tending to some vintage clothes that needed hemming, new zippers, expansion seams and a good press with a hot steamy iron. I also lubed up and tested out the 1974 Singer Genie sewing machine I picked up yesterday and she is smooth like butter.
I’ll post pics tomorrow of the completed outfits.

A couple of weeks ago my 14 year old niece visited me in the shop. She walked around smiling the whole time. Picking things up, asking questions and it was obvious she loved the vintage items so much. Her mom (my sister) told me she said it feels like they have a soul.
The reason I tell you this is I often hear people say that young people don’t appreciate this stuff anymore but I get regular young visitors that do. It’s not just a transaction, there is a conversation, a learning moment and a connection.
I have bins of button pins, toys and small figurines priced $1-10 so it won’t have to break the bank to bring a small treasure home.
