Reposting here so that my customers that don’t have Instagram are aware of changes that may be coming.
A few weeks ago I got the news that no one ever wants to hear. “You have breast cancer.”
The last 2 weeks have been incredibly stressful with many appointments and tests.
I am early stage two. I will have two rounds of chemo lasting 24 weeks…..then surgery. I’m still not really processing this but I am trying.
My first round of weekly chemo starts April 6th. The day before my birthday.
What this means for Hoot and Holly
For now, I am leaving the shop open and extending my turnaround times to 10-15 business days and I will need your patience. I don’t know how chemo will affect me in the first few weeks. If it becomes too much, I will temporarily close my website but I will give notice if I decide this is necessary. My goal is to stay open until June. July and August will be the most challenging, as the 2nd round of chemo is more intense and I will have my girls home from school at this time too. I will most likely have to close the website over the summer months.
The reality is, as a small business owner, I don’t qualify for any government assistance or long term disability. So I need to try to remain open until side effects make it impossible but my health will always come first.
I am strong, I have survived so many difficult things, but this is going to be the scariest challenge that I will need to overcome. And I have to overcome it.
Please send all of your healing positive thoughts my way. As always your support means so much to me. 💛
