Heritage Sports Art Heritage Sports Art is about the history of NFL, MLB, NHL, CFL and NCAA football uniforms and jerseys.

We have 2000+ framed original watercolor paintings for sale. This page celebrates the history of the uniforms and jerseys. The hope is that people will visit team-specific pages where they can load images of great uniforms and jerseys of their team, share stories and generally celebrate the history of the their team's jersey and uniform.

HI friends of Heritage Sports Art -

Over on my Facebook Heritage Sports Stuff page https://www.facebook.com/HeritageSportsStuff , we are in the midst of showing aerial views of home ballparks for most of the current MLB franchises, then we're going to showcase NFL home stadiums, followed by NHL home arenas. I'm aiming to post a new team every other day... So tag along for the next six months or so - we have a lot of content to share.

These aerial views are a great little glimpse into history and evolution of MLB, NFL and NHL team franchises. Climb aboard and learn a little sports trivia along the way.

My favourite MLB ballpark? I think it has to be the irregularly-shaped and brilliantly named "Palace of the Fans" , home of the Cincinnati Reds from 1902-1911. Where's a time machine when you need one?

Every San Francisco 49ers fan out there has their own level of fandom, and that's terrific. But it seems to me that as a 49ers fan, you'll live a longer and much happier life if you know these 5 essential things about your beloved 49ers. Ok, perhaps not, but still, have some fun. And this is NOT like the scene in the movie "Diner" where the wedding will be called off unless Steve Guttenberg's fiancé can answer 65% of 140 really tough questions about the Baltimore Colts.

Here are five essential facts about the San Francisco 49ers:

1. What was the 49ers first season in the NFL?
2. As of 2020, how many NFL Championships + Super Bowls have the 49ers won? (For clarification, the Super Bowl was called the NFL Championship before it became the Super Bowl.)
3. What year or season was the 49ers most recent Super Bowl victory and who did they beat to win that Super Bowl?
4. As of 2021, who was the longest serving head coach of the 49ers?
5. As of 2020, three different members of the 49ers have been named the NFL's Most Valuable Player. Can you name all three?

Answers:
1. The 49ers first season in the NFL was 1950. You might have been tempted to say 1946, but from 1946-1949 they played in a rival league called the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and didn't start playing in the NFL until 1950.
2. As of the end of 2020, the 49ers have been NFL Champs 5 times - 1981 (XVI), 1984 (XIX), 1988 (XXIII), 1989 (XXIV), 1994 (XXIX).
3. As of the end of 2020, the most recent Super Bowl win was in the 1994 season. It gets confusing - the Super Bowl was played January 29, 1995 but it's referred to as the 1994 NFL season. Final score was San Francisco 49ers 49 - San Diego Chargers 26.
4. The great Bill Walsh served as the 49ers head coach for 10 seasons from 1979 to 1988 and as of 2021 he holds the record for most seasons as 49ers head coach. He won three Super Bowls in his time as head coach.
5. As of the end of the 2020 season, three different 49ers have won the NFL's Most Valuable Player Award a total of five different times:
John Brodie 1970
Joe Montana 1989 + 1990
Steve Young 1992 + 1994
