What it WOULD have looked like....
Hi, I'm Liz Rego-Fried, a resident of Ayr, ON for 22 years.
I own your local thrift store for the last 4.5 years, and for the last 15 years, and 2000+ events staffed, own and operate a top in it's field, Black Tie Affair Hospitality Personnel. A business that gave dozens of your children jobs in high school & university in a fun, safe, and professional environment.
I was employed twelve years at the prestigious Galt Counry Club, the later years as Clubhouse Manager.
Then came sixteen years at Com Dev Space in various capacities and many committees under our local hero Mike Pley.
Here are the actual important things:
For 16 years I was part of the Friendly Visiting Program along side my Daughter. She was the youngest volunteer ever registered. To me, it's very important to raise good humans who know you need to give back to your community.
Together, we volunteered for 5 years on the Angel Tree Committee sorting and buying gifts for 150-200 children every year. Positions that required compassion & discretion as we were supporting many neighbours.
I am a Charter Member for your local Kiwanis.
I've also been a ND Lion for 3 years.
I live and breath "supporting local".
You will see my face at pretty much every local event. Music in the Park, Levees, Farmer's Markets, and more.
Local businesses know me! All my groceries are done at Foodland, even from their meager small location many moons ago. These are businesses that need to thrive if you would like jobs in your Community. Gas...local, prescriptions...local, dining...local, newspaper subscription....local...Just basically, LOCAL
Agriculture? Well, I married into a predominant agriculture Family. One that just celebrated their Family walking here from Pennsylvania 200 years ago. Plus there's my Dad & Family coming here 60 years ago to work the to***co fields. Yes, 1st generation immigrant here.
My BTA donated staff for many years to Cambridge Memorial Hospital's annual fundraiser, Taste of the Region raising huge money. My Husband's Family has also donated not one, but two wards to the Hospital.
Build a strong, supportive, fiscal-minded team.
