it’s january 2024, and the first month of a new year is obviously a great opportunity for a fresh start. better half has grown so much in 2023, and there’s even more growth to come for 2024. i wanted to start off the new year by reintroducing myself: my name is brynn. i am the creator, owner, and MOTHER of better half and i am so proud and grateful to be! i have been sewing for many years, taught by my grandma who i would help make quilts with as a kid. since then i’ve pursued fashion in post secondary school, dropped out, started my own business, and made countless garments for myself and others. i love to put my heart and soul into my work- but it’s not always easy. i struggle with motivation like everyone. i struggle with self doubt at times, and i struggle balancing a part time job with better half. it’s not always easy to be the sole owner of a small business as a q***r, neurodivergent woman. you’d think loans and grants would be easier to come across than they are, but right now i’m on my own! it’s been a bumpy road but i won’t give up. and i’m grateful to have you all here to remind myself what i’m doing this for. so thank you for sticking around! i’m so excited to show you what i’m working on, but for now i’m open for commissions 🩷🩵

wow- 2 years of better half already. thank you for the last year of support! we dropped our first ever collection, had our first photoshoot, and just recently had our first ever interview. here’s to another year of successes, thanks for sticking along for the ride! 🩵 we’ve got some things planned for the new year 🫶🏻

better half will be going on a brief hiatus! my touring musician partner giuliana (aka ) will be travelling across america for a month, and i will be joining them to run the merch stand and other tour logistics! unfortunately this means i have to close up shop for the time being, as better half is run only by myself. you can expect us back october 1st, but in the meantime, consider supporting us by visiting the link in bio to order kicksie merch handmade by me, or donate to help support the costs of our upcoming tour! thanks for your love and support, and we’ll see you soon!
