The bearded mountaineer is genuinely one of the coolest hummingbirds I’ve ever seen. The colour?? Come on.

I got these photos during a guided birding tour at a hummingbird sanctuary in Peru. It was truly one of my favourite days. I could’ve sat there forever.

Fall bird migration is underway, and millions of birds are travelling through Ontario under the cover of darkness. 🌙

Artificial light can disorient migrating birds, drawing them toward buildings and increasing the risk of window collisions. One easy way to help is by joining the Lights Out movement: turn off unnecessary indoor and outdoor lights overnight, close your blinds, and use motion-sensor lighting where possible.

A small change at home can make a real difference for the birds passing through our skies. Save this reel and share it with a fellow bird lover! 🐦

Borb. always.

I had to film myself dorking out over the birds at the Acropolis. Everyone else is focused on the view, the Parthenon and the history and I’m staring straight into the sky LOL!

Don’t worry, I made sure I was present while walking around. Birding is awesome but sometimes you have to overcome your want to look into the sky when there’s an ancient citadel in front of you. I only got distracted once or twice 😉

Those birds, by the way, were alpine swifts (from what I can find off Merlin)! Pretty cool and a new lifer for sure!

Even at work we’re birders to the core 😂
This was one of the largest red tailed hawks I’ve ever seen! I kept seeing it while we were at a golf tournament, flying around the course. It got pretty close to the golfers, swooping over their heads while flying tree to tree, so when we had the drone up we decided to see if we could spot it!

I loved how it was watching the drone fly around!

After this video we flew the drone away and let it be. But it hung around for most of the day so we could admire it from the ground! Super cool!

Prothonotary warbler from Point Pelee National Park! Put on this funny little show for us!

Not sure if they were fighting or what but it was cool to see them together with their wings out!

Well, not the closest photo but I’m happy I can call the Kirtland’s Warbler a new lifer! Plus, I’m glad it felt safe enough to pop up in the first place! Glad to see everyone keeping to the trails! So glad they’re here 🙌🏻

My bird thought of the day.

Seriously tho... why don’t gulls come to backyard feeders? They’re always eating garbage at parks and stealing food from people. Why don’t they come to teeders and eat seeds?

These are the questions we must ask.

Such a funny encounter 😂 I just love how silly these guys are!

I wish it was brighter so I could show you guys better but these little guys (eventually a female showed up) are on a regimented schedule!

What a great thing to see though! So cool!

Probably doesn’t help that the bird feeders are where they are so my big lens is zoomed in on their house. Don’t worry tho I think they’re used to me by now 😂
