It’s been a busy couple of weeks.
An Artisan market on October 3rd, restocking crocheted items and earrings, getting my Christmas earring collection together, making earring tags, an ESS volunteer meeting last Tuesday, a reception centre site management course last Friday, an ESS training session this past Wednesday and, oh yeah!, a trip to the hospital via ambulance on September 30th for a kidney stone. I didn’t know what it was at the time. I have a very high pain threshold but I can tell you it was worse than labour pains. I sure don’t want to go through that again! 🤦‍♀️
Anyway, my Deep Bay studio is open this Friday and Saturday, 11 am to 4 pm, both days. Drop in and say hi if you’re in my neck of the woods. 😊

What a fantastic turnout we had on Saturday for the Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice market. As always, Two Chicks and a Llama did a phenomenal job in making it a huge success. Thank you Merilee and Kathi! 😊

My next market, the Lighthouse Christmas Artisan Market, isn’t until November 21st & 22nd, so my studio will be open to pop-in visitors on select days. See my pinned post for my full October schedule.
This week is super busy with two volunteer meetings tomorrow, appointment on Thursday, and an all day training course on Friday. My Deep Bay studio will be open on Wednesday and Saturday, 11am to 4pm.

Please join us for a community gathering and walk in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Gather at ts’xwelikwshenawtxw, 124 West 2nd Avenue, Qualicum Beach, for tea, coffee, conversation and reflection.

12:30 p.m. We will walk together from ts’xwelikwshenawtxw to Qualicum Beach Town Hall, where Chief Mugalease (Michael Recalma) of Qualicum First Nation and Mayor Teunis Westbroek will share words with the community.

1 p.m. The walk will continue together to the Qualicum Beach Museum, where Chief Mugalease (Michael Recalma) will offer final words.

As we walk together may we carry what we learn and remember beyond this day - into stronger relationships, deeper understanding, and the future we shape together.

What a wonderful weekend! The weather could not have been better. 🍁 😎
Thank you to everyone who stopped by my Deep Bay studio during the Route 19A 2026 Studio Tour. As well as locals, I had visitors from Ontario, Edmonton, Red Deer, West Vancouver, the lower mainland, Port Alberni, Duncan, Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Campbell River, Comox, Courtenay, Union Bay, and F***y Bay, with a total of 64 visitors over the two days. 😊
I would also like to give a HUGE thank you to Sheena and all her helpers who volunteered their time over several months to make the Route 19A Arts and Musical Festival such a huge success once again. It gets better every year and I am so honoured to be a part of it. ❤️

I finished it last night and is now on display, for sale, in my studio.
I have to admit that I giggled a bit when I looked at the final result. Not bad for someone who is a self taught crocheter and makes up her own designs. 😊

I discovered that my Square reader for my phone is not compatible so just ordered a ‘tap’. My newer phone does not have a port to plug into. It may not arrive in time for tomorrow so only e-transfer or cash can be accepted.
