​The first conversation I had with the senior management of Horseware Ireland took place at the Spoga trade fair in Cologne, Germany. They knew my family had built a little Canadian blanket brand, and they wanted to know what my intentions were with Horseware Ireland.

​I talked rugby with the CEO and social media with the international account manager, who had just come to Horseware from TikTok.

​I did my elevator pitch right there in the booth. I gave some backstory as to how my parents started out in the basement fixing horse blankets in 1983, how we built a brand at the Royal Winter Fair, and how deeply invested we are in our team, some of whom have been with us for over 30 years.

​I wanted something exclusive, as well as the opportunity to work directly with their production team. They showed interest, but nothing happens quickly when you're dealing with one of the largest companies in our industry.

​What followed was two years of building the brand with our clients and buying just about every deal they threw at me. This brought us hundreds of new customers and introduced Horseware to our western clients.

​I never gave up on the idea of an exclusive collection, and today, the first of many containers arrived.

Starting Monday, August 31st, we will be announcing exclusive blankets and deals for every size of horse, featuring every brand from the Horseware Ireland collection.
