so many parents ask us how to dress baby for sleep, and the pip and phee tog guide makes it so simple. tog rating basically tells you how warm a sleep piece actually is, the higher the number, the warmer it keeps your baby. for a room sitting between 16 and 18 degrees celsius, you will want a 2.5 tog sleep sack layered over a long sleeve onesie and romper. once the room warms up to 18 to 20 degrees, you can drop down to a 1.0 tog or stick with 2.5 depending on how your baby runs. warmer rooms between 20 and 22 degrees do best with a 1.0 tog sack and a long sleeve onesie, while anything from 22 to 25 degrees only needs a 0.5 tog sack with a simple short sleeve onesie underneath. remember this is guidance only, room airflow, humidity, and what your baby is wearing underneath can all affect how warm they actually feel, so always use your best judgment and check for overheating.
